For those of our friends that practice Hinduism we are happy to accommodate your needs. To arrange services to be held here you must contact a Funeral Home. We are not a Funeral Home nor are we a affiliated with one. When contacting a Funeral Home just ask them to have your service held at Franklin Memorial Park.
Cremation Memorial Options
With the choice of cremation come many options. You may have a traditional funeral with a committal service in our chapel or you may choose to have the cremation at present and follow with a memorial service at a later date. While there are many options on how to proceed with services, a decision as to the final resting place should be made as soon as possible. A safe, secure final resting place in a Certificate of Authority Cemetery provides family members an important focal point to help them through the grieving process. This also provides future generations with a permanent record and connection with their past.
At Franklin Memorial Park you will find numerous options:
- Garden Niche
- COM Gallery and Pedestal
- COS Glass front (Story Book)
- COS Marble front
- COS Exterior Granite front
For more information on memorial options, please see our Niches page.
FAQs
What is Cremation?
Cremation is the reduction of human remains through high heat and flame to bone fragments.
Do I need to use the services of a Funeral Director if I choose cremation?
Yes, the use of a licensed Funeral Director is required for cremations performed in New Jersey. The funeral director is a trained professional who provides a very definite service for the family. The funeral director picks up the body at the place of death, provides proof of proper identification, completes all legal documentations prior to cremation and also assists the family in honoring the loved family member or friend.
Is a casket required?
A casket for cremation itself is not required; however a suitable cremation container is necessary to provide dignity and to protect the crematory staff.
What may I expect to be returned to me from the crematory?
After the cremation all non combustible materials are separated from the cremated remains. The remaining bone fragments are then taken to the processor station where they are further reduced to particles the size of sand. They are then placed in a black plastic urn and white cardboard box. This packaging complies with the Transportation Security Administration and may travel internationally.
Who performs the cremations?
We do not use subcontractors to operate our crematory. We currently have 5 certified crematory operators on staff.
How do I know I am getting the “right” cremated remains?
Upon arrival at the crematory the funeral director presents the cremation authorization form and New Jersey transit permit to the crematory staff. A staff person then enters the information into the crematory log book and assigns a cremation number and stainless steel identification tag with a unique number for that cremation. This tag and paperwork accompany the remains though out the entire process and is returned to the family attached to the cremated remains.
Are All The Cremated Remains Returned?
With the exception of minute and microscopic particles, which are impossible to remove from the cremation chamber and processing equipment, all of the cremated remains are given back to the family.
What do I do with the cremated remains?
