“Your thoughtful planning will protect your family when they need it most.” This simple statement says it all. By preplanning your cemetery arrangements now you will be saving your family from making very difficult decisions at a very difficult time. At Franklin Memorial Park we have preplanning programs that will allow you to save money and give your family the gift of knowing that your wishes will be carried out.
Leave your family with memories, not questions.
Our licensed memorial counselors have many years of experience helping families just like yours become informed on just what to expect when a death occurs. We provide free of charge a Family or Personal Emergency Record Guide that is a simple invaluable tool to help you prepare. You can request a copy of the guide by checking the box on the contact form.
As with many difficult tasks in life we face often the hardest part is to take the first step in completing them. Read Excuses That Prevent Preplanning below to see some reasons why people put off these decisions and some important reasons not to.
Excuses That Prevent Preplanning
I Don’t Care
Perhaps the most compelling reason to preplan is to take responsibility for ones self. You may not care but, your family will have to. By not making these decisions now you will be forcing your family to make these emotional and financial decisions while under great stress. From our experience people who say they don’t care really just don’t want to think about death.
I Don’t Want to Think About It
No one wants to think about death and no one should dwell on it. You should make these decisions now and give yourself the peace of mind of knowing your house is in order. When purchasing insurance for your house, hospitalization or life, you don’t expect bad things to happen, but you realized what could happen if you were not prepared and acted accordingly. Cemetery arrangements are just one more thing to take care of then forget about.
My Insurance Will Take Care of Everything
No it won’t. Insurance money will reimburse your family for expenses they may incur, but they will still have to make decisions that you should have made. Do you think insurance money should go to a survivor’s security, a child’s education or cemetery expenses?
I Can’t Afford It Now
Cemetery expenses must be paid in full at the time of need. This often diverts funds that are needed to pay medical and or living expenses. By preplanning now you can lock in today’s prices and arrange payments to fit your budget. Whether you choose cremation, burial or above ground entombment let one of our memorial counselors show you how easy it is to fit a plan to your budget.
I Want to Be Cremated
That is a choice more and more people are making these days and just another important reason to make your arrangements ahead of time. We have been a cremation center for over thirty years. We have seen many family members accepting the burden of cremated remains of a loved one when no final disposition has been arranged. Take a moment to read the very informative brochure “Cremation is not the end” found in the Cremation Center area of our website.
My Spouse Will Not Discuss It
We recommend that a husband and wife share their feelings and decide on their final arrangements together. This saves your loved ones heartache, expense and inconvenience at the time of your passing. Besides, we would rather see the both of you now rather than later when the inevitable forces one of you to see us alone on the worst day of your life.
I Am Not Sure Where I Will Be
The cemetery industry has realized this for many years. We are members of the International Cemetery and Funeral Association’s credit exchange plan. We have helped families from all over the country transfer cemetery property. Ask a memorial counselor for details.
I Do Not Know Where to Begin
Not many people do. This is a subject that is not covered in school, but you can be sure there will be a test! Make sure you know what is to be done ahead of time. Fortunately our licensed memorial counselors can explain all your options. Just give us a call or fill out (this form). You may come in for a tour of our park or a counselor will be happy to visit with you at your home or place of business.
